The 4th Annual Dublin Zine Fair and Issue #4 of Baby BEEF
We are delighted to have the biggest and best Dublin Zine Fair under our belts. It was a lot of work, but the feedback has been amazing! Thank you to everyone who came to the fair and all the publishers for taking part. Also a big thank you to the zine team and Jack of Diamonds Rhythm & Roots Festival for sending us great musicians over the weekend. Thanks to everyone who read from their zines and everyone who ran and took part in the workshops. And of course thank you to our amazing volunteers who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm for free on both days.
Myself and Andrea worked our butts off to get Baby BEEF issue 4 done in two days! With a beautiful linoprint cover and a complicated Japanese bind it was not easy! Not only did we do this but we also produced our own zines. Andrea launched "Shackle" and I launched "Prelude" a zine of diary entries from my childhood and teenage years! All zines will be available to buy on this site very soon! See our Facebook page for more images from the 2014 Fair.

Baby BEEF Seek Submissions for #4 to be launched at the 4th Annual Dublin Zine Fair
Myself and Andrea started Baby BEEF in 2006 as a contributor based zine of art, poetry, stories, photography and articles. We did this to give ourselves and people like us an outlet and platform for our work to be seen, outside of a gallery setting. To not wait around for people to discover us but to do it ourselves. We released 3 issues before branching off to do other publications, artist books and projects. In those 3 issues we published artists from all over the world, distributed them at gigs, independent fairs/shops and globally by sending them to the contributors and bringing them travelling with us. Myself and Andrea have really missed the fun that making the zine gave us. And how great it was to celebrate art and collaborate with other artists. So it is for this reason that we have decided to make Baby BEEF Issue 4 this summer and launch it at this years 4th Annual Dublin Zine Fair in August.
Interested in submitting your work?
Submissions of text can be sent via email. Contributors sending art should keep in mind that the work will be shown in A5 size. The zine celebrates the handmade, old fashioned techniques and analogue film and photography. So we are not looking for digital art work. As with the other issues of Baby BEEF the zine's purpose is to celebrate, share and promote art, in Ireland and around the world. The zine will be distributed to many international independent publishing shops/fairs and to participating artists to distribute.
If your work is selected:
Your name and website/link will be printed with your work. You will be sent a copy of the zine when it is completed.
The zine will be launched at the Dublin Zine Fair -16th & 17th August 2014.
The deadline for submissions is 4th July 2014.

Delighted to be in "Fail Better" the first issue of Imprint Zine by The Market Studios, Dublin. I met up with Deirdre Morrisey, Grainne and Eimear Tynan last year, when they asked me for zine advice. I brought along a collection of my zines to the studios and we discussed the joys of binding and printers. Each issue will be curated by a different artist and will be available to buy for 5 euro in IMMA and the Irish Design Shop and online at: http://imprintzine.com/

I have been busy zining again! Here's my latest creation -Love Lomo! I made this artist book to accompany the exhibition of the same name that I curated at the Ranelagh Arts Centre. It features photographs taken on lomography camera by ten different artists. Each photo is partnered with a write up by each artist about how they discovered lomo photography and why they love it! The exhibition finishes up on Friday, the show truely has some amazing images and has gotten a great response. A lot of hard labour went into these beauties! I embossed and drew a lomo camera on the cover of each book and sowed the pages together by hand. There's a step by step guide of how I made Love Lomo Zine on my artist blog!

A new zine is hot off the press!
"The Wishing Tree" zine documents a selection of the thousands of wishings hung on the wishing tree at Electric Picnic Music and Arts Festival 2011. The Wishing Tree was part of a larger project called "Something About Mary" by Rosita Sweetman. Some of the wishes are inspiring, some heartbreaking and others are hilarious! Here's some images of the zine! It's available to buy on my etsy shop in the side bar and on this site.
